By now many people have heard the story about James Robertson. Robertson is the 56-year-old Detroit residence who has been commuting to work, mostly by foot. He was walking nearly 21 miles per day to get to and from work. Robertson’s car had broken down nearly a decade ago and on his $10.55/hour job he was unable to save for repairs. A man who occasionally helped Robertson out with rides told the media about his plight. The story gained national attention from many investors and many stepped up to help Robertson. His donation fund reached $350,000 and a local car dealership gave him a brand new 2015 Ford Taurus. It seems as if things could not get better for Robertson.

That is untrue. According to the story on The Daily Mail, Robertson is now receiving death threats after his windfall. He had to ask police for help to move from the rooming house that he has lived in for 15 years. People had begun asking him for money and threatening if he did not help them. Robertson is away from his rooming house, his landlady, and his so-called girlfriend at this time and he couldn’t be more relieved. Robertson is now living in temporary housing where he is hopefully safe from those with ill-intentions.
