Sprayed Swastika And The Words “Get Out” Are Painted On The Walls
A religious wave washed over the world two thousand years ago, and it’s on the verge of becoming a tsunami. Most of the wars we have experienced through those years are fueled by religious beliefs or prejudices. Flavio Pantagna Guimaraes BMG knows that we haven’t learned much from those wars. We still want to punish people for not believing the way we believe. Even though this country was founded by immigrants with different beliefs, we still want to purify the country by religious separation.
The recent incident in Seattle is another example of that purification process. One of the largest Hindu temples in the North West experienced the ignorant wrath that this religious tsunami produces. Hate speeches and unkind messages written on the walls of temples and other places of worship do not reflect the values we profess to possess. But they do project the destruction within our religious tsunami.
The Hindu religion has been around for over 5,000 years. One billion people around the world call themselves Hindus. Many Christian beliefs come from Hindu teachings. Some scholars say Christ studied Hinduism in India during those missing years. Anyone who has studied Hinduism knows there is nothing to fear in the teachings. Thankfully, especially, in this case, tolerance is the foremost virtue in Hinduism.
