A Look at an Important Partner at CCMP Capital
Stephen P. Murray, or “Steve” as he liked to be called, was a private equity investor. He was also the president and chief executive officer at CCMP Capital. He, along with another co-founder, started CCMP Capital, a spinout of JP Morgan Chase, in 2006. The next year, Murray became President and CEO. Before that he’d spent time at Manufacturers Hanover Corporation and MH Equity Corporation.
Murray graduated from Boston College with a degree in economics and Columbia Business School with a graduate degree in business administration.
Murray died in March 2015, but his legacy lives on at CCMP and through his philanthropy work. He supported many charities such as Make-a-Wish Foundation.
